M&M Party Cookies
1 c. shortening

½ c. sugar
2 eggs
2 t. vanilla
2 ¼ c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
1 ½ c. M&M (3/4 lb.)
Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix flour, soda, and salt. Combine. Stir in ½ c. M&Ms. Place balls on a cookie sheet and decorate tops with remaining M&Ms. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes.
Sugar Cookies
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 T. vanilla
3 c. flour
Cream sugar and butter. Beat in eggs, vanilla, and flour. Mix until all ingredients are well blended. Chill dough for 1 hour before rolling. Bake at 350 for 8 minutes. The secret is to not over cook. Cookie should not be brown on edges if you want them to be soft.
Frosting:
3 ½ c. powdered sugar
¼ c. Crisco
1 ½ t. vanilla
3 TB milk (add as needed to desired consistency)
